Got A Hard To Please Person To Send A Gift To?
Every family, work place, or network of friends has one. He or she is one of those people who is never really pleased by gifts. This can be very frustrating to those of us who want to show our love or appreciation though a present. But even the hardest to please people are likely to want some things. We all need or want stuff.
In my family, we certainly have one beloved person who is hard to please with gifts. For the purpose of this Article, we will call her Aunt Nellie. Nellie does not like flowers because they die. Her doctor has warned her to avoid sugar so candy is out. Clothes never seem to be appropriate because she is hard to fit, and she has her own style.
Aunt Nellie has always been very frugal. So she also hates it when people waste money. So instead of being tactful about gifts she does not care for, she will tell the giver that the present really did not please her. She does not do this to be mean, but because she believes honesty is the best policy.
This is very frustrating for all of us. But we local and long-time family members see it as a challenge. It is most frustrating for one new family member who has just married into our clan. She does not live in town, so it is difficult for her to pick the right gift in person. She has made several attempts to give this picky person in our family the right gift. She also does not know Aunt Nellie very well, and so she takes the honest feedback very personally.
There is one thing she does like though. She likes to shop! A gift that would allow Aunt Nellie to shop for herself would always be appreciated.

If Aunt Nellie got a gift card she could use to help her make a purchase she really wanted, that would be a big hit. She is careful about what she does on the internet, so the gift card would have to be for a well known and trusted online retailer.

They can also be purchased for a variety of denominations, from $10 to many hundreds of dollars. So you can really fit the gift that fits your budget too. You can give an inexpensive present or a shopping extravaganza.
Even if you would rather send an actual gift, and not just a gift certificate, it can make a nice addition. Many gifts, from laptops to flashlights, need extra things to make them work. An MP3 player would be better if it included some songs or a case. Even a flash light needs batteries. So you see that you could add the gift card to another gift in order to make the gift even more special.
